The Minnesota Lynx based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, playing in the Western Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Founded prior to the 1999 season. The team is owned by Glen Taylor, who also owns the Lynx' NBA counterpart, the Minnesota Timberwolves. Qualified for the WNBA Playoffs in five of their fifteen years in Minnesota. The team is the defending WNBA Champion, having won the 2013 WNBA Finals. It also won the WNBA title in 2011. Katie Smith, Seimone Augustus, Lindsay Whalen and Maya Moore have all been team stars.
